Dengie qualifier success

CRAWLEY and Horsham Hunt South Branch of the Pony Club, held its annual 2nd round Area 13 Dengie Qualifier and Area 13 Open Dengie Competition recently at Royal Leisure Equestrian Centre, Henfield. With entries again way up on previous years, this Show Jumping Show was a huge success, with more than 225 rounds of jumping completed over seven classes of varying heights.

For the Area 13 Dengie 2nd round competition, 39 competitors came forward, having qualified at local venues, as far a field as Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Hampshire and Sussex. Eighteen went in to the very hotly contested jump off, and for the third year running was won very stylishly by Victoria Dawe on her relatively new ride Red Slaney, second was Prides Crossing and Adam Harvey, third Bethanne Rae and JJ Firecracker, fourth Gemma Dobson and Kristin. All four go forward to the Championships at Warwickshire College later this month.

Last class of the day was the Area 13 Open Championship qualifier, 24 came forward for this class, and ten went into the jump off, and only three going clear to gain qualification for the championships- 1 Sophie Royall and Dragon Flyer;2 Michelle Lambert and A Touch Of Dutch; 3 Rhian Dention and Tiger Lily.
