Draper hits four in Saxons cruise

Dave Draper scored four goals in the first half as South Saxons won 7-2 away to Crawley II on Saturday.

The result took Saxons four points clear at the top of South Hockey League Sussex Area - Division One because second-placed Horsham II lost to third-placed Penguin.

Draper, pictured, converted a couple of short corners to put Saxons two-up inside 10 minutes. Paddy Cornish added a well-worked third before two more from Draper made it 5-0 at half time.

Although comfortable winners, Saxons lost their way during the second half as bickering crept into the away camp. Dan Burnett bagged a brace of goals and captain Cornish was man of the match.
