Adams joins Sidley family

Sidley United have signed Hastings United midfielder/striker Sam Adams on a dual-registration basis.

Adams, who turned 24 on Saturday, has made 251 appearances and scored 69 goals since joining Ryman League Premier Division club Hastings in summer 2005.

Blues boss John Lambert said: “I want him to play the highest level he can, but if I can get a game or two out of him this season, I will. He expressed a wish to sign dual-regs so I went round and signed him.”

Adams, who has netted five times in 24 outings for Hastings this term, played under Lambert during the Sidley manager’s stint as Hastings chief during the first half of the 2008-09 season.

He becomes the third Hastings first team player to dual-register with Sidley in 2010-11 after Sean Ray and Nathan Russell. Rhys Whyborne and Russell did the same last year, and without them Sidley may not have been promoted.
