Bexhill sunk by late double

The Pirates conceded two goals during the closing quarter-of-an-hour to lose 2-1 at home to Broadbridge Heath in a Sussex RUR Charity Cup third round tie having led at half time.

Bexhill had the better of the first half in a match switched to The Polegrove after two postponements at Broadbridge Heath.

Danny Turner put Bexhill in front around five minutes before the break by half-volleying home his third goal in two games after Paul Rogers got his head to an Aaron Parris cross.

Bexhill began the second period in similar fashion, but Heath equalised on 75 minutes through Dan Attwater after the ball wriggled out of Paul Atkinson’s grasp.

The Horsham side won it five minutes from time when Jamal Sultan cut in from the left and fired home at the near post. Bexhill defender Lewis Parsons was then sent-off for kicking the ball at an opponent.
