Boldewijn, who was Crawley Town’s first summer signing, has wished his fellow countryman Vincent Janssen well on his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The pair played together at Dutch second-tier outfit Almere City from 2013 to 2015, before Janssen made the switch to AZ Alkmaar, from who he joins Spurs on a four-year deal.

Attacking midfielder Boldewijn, 23, remained at the club last season, before making the switch to England this summer.

Boldewijn tweeted: “I want to wish my old teammate and incredible striker Vincent Janssen the best of luck at The Spurs. Go get them.”

Janssen scored 29 goals in 69 appearances for Almere City in his two years at the club.
