Chichester's slide continues at Peacehaven

Chichester'S woes continued as a 2-0 defeat at Peacehaven left them 15th in the table.

Chichester have gone 11 games without a win, are struggling with injuries and are now just nine points off the relegation zone with five games remaining.

Peacehaven had Rob O’Toole to thank as he scored his 16th and 17th goals of the season to sink Chichester at The Sports Park. That kind of goalscoring record is something Adie Girdler’s side can only envy, having scored just three times in their last ten.

They almost improved on that record early on but were left to rue Joe Briggs’ missed opportunity, as O’Toole was played in by Craig Bunch and finished well on 31 minutes to open the scoring.

He doubled his tally for the afternoon ten minutes into the second half with a volley that condemned Chichester to a tenth consecutive defeat.

Only two of those games have been at home, where City’s record is better, having secured 26 of their 38 points at Oaklands Way this season.

Girdler’s men’s entertain Hassocks this Saturday, looking to reverse the 1-0 scoreline from when the sides met earlier last month.
