Dragons have too much fire for Bosham

The Dragons of TD Shipley recorded a much-needed 2-1 win in division three of the Sussex League at the expense of a Bosham side going through a worrying period.

Boss Tony Hancock drew on experience and new blood with Marco Giambelardini welcomed back after a recent absence, Jack Randall making the step up to first-team duties to toughen up the defence and Simon Hasted back between the sticks.

Kieran Hartley looked sharp and Shipley’s Dom Giacomelle found him a handful. Neil Paskell, in goal for Shipley, was busy.

But just before half-time Gary Pritchard edged the Dragons in front after the pace of Steve Lester had Bosham in a pickle.

Bosham were back on level terms as Hartley picked up the ball from the second-half kick-off, surging to the box and firing home. But on the hour, Bosham were sloppy and Pritchard took full advantage to slot home.

Joe Hancock saw a controversial red for another bruising challenge.

Substitutes Callum Fewell, James Johnson and Adam Feast could not carve out an equaliser.

BOSHAM: Hasted, Dowden, Redman, Hartley, Giambelardini, Joe Hancock, Randall, Bracher, Docherty, Blanshard, Jack Hancock. Subs: Fewell, Feast, Johnson.
