Hastings & Sidley games off already

The football matches involving Hastings United and Sidley United tomorrow (Saturday) have already been postponed.

Hastings were due to host Carshalton Athletic in a clash of the Ryman Football League Premier Division’s bottom two, but the U’s have posted a message on social network site Twitter to say that the game has been called-off due to a frozen pitch.

Sidley have also Tweeted to confirm that their Sussex County League Division One fixture away to Crowborough Athletic will not be going ahead for the same reason, while Rye United will hold a pitch inspection at 3.30pm today ahead of their FA Vase last 32 clash at home to Guernsey.

It’s bad news for Hastings and Sidley because the games are stacking up for both clubs. Hastings already have midweek matches arranged for just about every week until well into March as a result of their exploits in the various cup competitions.

Sidley have played just once since December 11 and still have 22 league games, plus a minimum of two cup ties remaining this season. Rye, by the way, have 23 matches still to play in the same division.
