Lions notch lucky 13th win in a row

Pagham's relentless march at the top of division one of the Sussex League continued with their 13th win in 13.

The Lions’ 3-0 win at East Grinstead put them 11 points clear at the top - a remarkable lead for mid-October.

They bid for a 14th straight league win at home to Hassocks on Tuesday night.

Also going well in the top flight are Selsey, who made it six wins in a row with a 3-2 success at Ringmer. They host Lancing on Tuesday.

But on a run of an unwanted variety are Chichester City, who lost 4-0 at Crowborough.

Adie Girdler’s team bidf to end their miserable run at home to Worthing on Tuesday.

In the RUR Charity Cup second round, there was a dramatic afternoon at Rotherfield, where Midhurst beat Littlehampton 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw, with both their goals coming from Gary Buller.

In division three Bosham are fifth after a 2-2 draw at Hurstpierpoint.
