Rye through in senior cup

Rye United made progress in another cup competition on Wednesday night.

Having booked their place in the last 32 of the FA Vase at the weekend, the Quarterboys reached the last 16 of the Sussex Senior Cup with a 2-1 win over Pagham.

Both Rye goals came in the first half at The Caburn, home of Ringmer FC, with a cracker from Danny Ellis being followed by a marvellous solo effort by Jono Richardson.

The reward for Scott Price’s side is a clash against fellow Sussex County League Division One side Wick or Ryman League Division One South outfit Worthing.
