Horsham joint-manager Anthony Storey wants his players to stop shipping easy goals after they found themselves 2-0 behind after just 25 minutes against Three Bridges.

He reckons they have to improve their defending if they want to avoid relegation to the County League.

Following their 4-3 defeat at home to derby rivals Three Bridges, he admitted: “I’m just sick of gifting the opposition goals. It’s becoming embarrassing.

“The first one was an absolute gift. It seems we are waiting for something to happen first before we actually get going.

“With ten games to go we got to stop gifting goals away. I know it’s alright for me standing on the side but people must stand up and take responsibility.

“No-one gives us cheap goals like that. Everything we do we’ve got we have to work for.”

Storey also reckons luck goes against you when you are bottom of the league.

He said: ““When you are down there you don’t get much luck. It’s difficult we’ve made a lot of changes at the club and we’ve got a lot of new players in.

“We’ve also got three key players missing in Lewis Hamilton, he’s captain of the club, Tom Gilbert who has been outstanding all season and we have Tony Nwachukwu suspended.

“They are three key players for us who would normally be starting.

“If we are to survive we have to start picking up points and winning matches.”
