White ‘worked day and night’ to seal deal

Former Horsham central defender King has become the latest player to verbally commit to United for next season and could potentially form a formidable partnership with Sean Ray.

Ben White said: “Terry’s worked day and night to get him in. It’s a good signing. He was immense when we played them up there at the back end of the season and if we’re going to be successful next year, he will be a big part of it.

“I don’t know if (present captain) Ben Judge is going to be with us or not next year. Judgey struggles with training and we need to be training regularly next year.

“The club have been speaking to one or two full-backs from a higher level and right-back especially is a position we need to address. Hopefully we can get someone in with the same sort of calibre as the players we’ve signed already.

“The signings that Terry’s made in terms of keeping hold of players from last year and bringing in new additions are proper players, and the attitude of the players is the key thing. They’ve got a bit of drive about them to be successful.

“This football club needs to be in the league above or in my opinion the league above that and I’m really pleased with the way the squad’s shaping up.”
