Hockey ace salutes St Richard's pupils

TOP hockey player Calum Giles was special guest as St Richard's Catholic College celebrated a year of sporting success.

Giles' achievements include playing in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, 2000 Sydney Olympics, European and World Cups, and is the only English player to ever top the goal-scoring charts in a major tournament, namely in Dublin in 1995.

The day was a chance to acknowledge both individual and team successes and around 300 pupils received at least one prize and in many cases several awards.
