Improving Sidley hope to do better than Bexhill

LEWES Priory visit Bexhill for the second consecutive week on Saturday (June 22) when they tackle Sidley at Gullivers.

Kashif Ibrahim claimed nine wickets for just 31 runs when they beat Bexhill last week, but Sidley will be hoping for a better result as they are looking stronger each game.

Although Peter King's side have still to win a game, they came close against leaders Cuckfield in their last match, only to be denied by some stubborn tail order batting.

They'll be encouraged by the decent target they posted and the form of Tyrone Wildman, Scott Woodroffe and King with the ball.

Bexhill have now lost their last four games, including an early exit in the Sussex Cup against Preston Nomads who they face Saturday.

Hill skipper Sam Roberts is confident of reversing that result and said: "Preston are middle of the table side and we should be looking to win. I'm optimistic but really I think I'll need to score some good runs along with two or three others.

"They have a very good all-rounder in their captain Michael Strong so we'll be watching out for him but we played them in the cup and I can't see any reason why we should be intimidated by them."

Martin Menzes and Rakesh Patel return to the team and will hopefully bring some much needed depth to the batting.
