MATTHEW CLAIMS GOLF COURSE RECORD
RED-hot Matthew Turner from West Sussex Golf Club shot a course record 65 at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club in Dubai en route to his stunning victory in the Faldo Series Asia (FSA) Championship in the UAE.
With morning fog reducing the tournament to 27 holes, the 16-year-old Emirates Golf Club prodigy finished on a 10-under-par total of 98 to convincingly defend his title and earn himself a return trip to Mission Hills in China for the FSA grand final.
The highlight of his seven-under-par 65 was an eagle on the par four 15th, having driven the green. He also carded six birdies and only one bogey and was naturally delighted.
