Miles sending-off dents Sidley

SIDLEY United lie fourth from bottom in Sussex Division One following a 3-1 loss at neighbours Eastbourne Town on Wednesday night.

But Blues' joint boss Andy Laskey was of the view that "without a doubt" the game's complexion changed when striker Keith Miles was dismissed after 25 minutes.

Miles was brought down by Lee Walsh just inside Town's half and threw the ball against the back of his opponent, prompting referee Martin Prior to produce a red card for violent conduct.

At this stage the game was tight and still goalless but by half time former Blue Shaun Loft had headed the home side into a two goal lead.

Kevin Rose pulled one back for United by heading in Jordan Wood's cross but Steve Dallaway, who "everyone around said was blatantly offside", wrapped the game up in the final quarter of an hour.

Sidley entertain Redhill tomorrow on Saturday November 13 in the second round of the SCFA John O'Hara League Challenge Cup, kick-off 3pm.
