Bognor Prom 10k: another great sport event lost to the pandemic

But the race has, like the whole of the sporting programme at present, had to be called off with the country still in lockdown.
We didn't want 10k weekend to pass unnoticed given that it is such a popular event that draws runners from across West Sussex and beyond, so we are asking for your pictures and memories of past Bognor Prom 10ks.

Hide AdWe're kicking things off with a gallery of pictures by Neil Cooper from last year's race - maybe you will spot yourself if you ran.
We'll have another collection of pictures online at the weekend going further back than last year and we'll include some in the Bognor Observer next week, on the day that we would normally have carried full coverage of the race.
So get involved - email any Prom 10k pictures and memories to [email protected] or tweet them to @stevebone1
The organisers, Tone Zone Runners, are promising to be back with a memorable race next year.

Hide AdThey said in March: "It is with disappointment that because of the coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to cancel the Bognor Prom 10k event, which was due to take place on 17 May 2020.
"We can assure you that we did not take this decision lightly. Prior to making the final decision, we did consider whether postponing the event to later in the year would be viable, however due to a great number of other events having been postponed, it has meant that the race calendar for 2020 has become busy and too compressed for the end of the season.
"Our priority is to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone involved as well as limit further expenditure. At this point, we would like to thank our amazing volunteers, partners and sponsors for their commitment and continued support.
"Our aim is to organise another great event in 2021."
