Seagull trio set the pace

THREE Bexhill-based members of Hastings Seagull Swimming Club performed superbly at a two-day Portsmouth Open Meet.

The trio clocked 10 personal best times and 13 medals between them!

James Lawton, 15, took the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke in a PB of 1.14.54, a hat-trick of silvers in the 100m backstroke (1.05.12), 100m freestyle (57.42PB) and 200m IM (2.24.13PB), and bronze in both the 100m butterfy (1.04.74PB) and 200m freestyle (2.09.76).

Rachel Lawton, 13, claimed gold in the 100m freestyle (1.06.16PB), finished 5th in the 200m freestyle (2.26.14PB), 6th in the 100m breaststroke (1.28.40), 7th in the 200m IM (2.47.57PB) and 8th in the 100m backstroke (1.17.12PB).

Edward Pitt, 13, scooped silver in the 100m butterfly (1.14.67), came home 4th in both the 100m backstroke (1.15.16PB) and the 100m freestyle (1.06.80), 5th in the 200m IM (2.43.64PB) and 7th in the 200m freestyle (2.24.64).
