United win with a gem from Azimi

DANNY AZIMI has come out of Worthing League football to score the goal that brings United a home tie against Hamble ASSC of the Wessex League near Southampton.

Azimi is in his first season in senior football after leaving Revenue, along with, among others his fellow star on Sunday, Ben McKenzie. And he brilliantly volleyed home from a slight angle in the 76th minute from Richard Maymon's delivery as it came over his right shoulder to stun the crowd that reportedly looked around 400. It resembled in reverse on his left foot the renowned David Platt volley against Belgium for England.

If that nearly broke Sidley's hearts, keeper Danny Swietlik completed the job with a fine save shortly afterwards. And then, immediately, Azimi should have made the result safe but scuffed wide.
