VASE TIE SUMMONS ARUNDEL NORTH

THE BIG day is nearly here. Arundel make the 288-mile trip north to Bridlington tomorrow (Friday) for Saturday's FA Vase fourth round tie worth £800 to the winners with the Northern Counties East Premier Division club.

The club have hired a coach - which is already fully booked - for the journey and leaves Mill Road tomorrow lunchtime on a trek which (with a stop) will take seven and a half hours to complete.

Logistics for the trip have been carefully planned between manager Mike Rowland and chairman Bob Marchant.

He told me: "We have the players in one hotel and the supporters in another and Mike and the squad are going out for a meal on the eve of the game so they can all be together.

"Bridlington have invited all our supporters (probably between 45-50] up to their club on Friday evening for drinks and food. We feel that if we are going to put our money anywhere, then we should put it over their bar and into their coffers."
