Walton's double seals Blues win

RUSTINGTON FC recorded their 15th consecutive league win on Saturday but were far from their best against Rottingdean Village.

Blues made it two victories from two this season to go top. They won their final 13 Division 3 matches last campaign.

Village, Brighton League champions, did not lose a match all last season and went ahead at Rustington on Saturday after 38 minutes.

That seemed to wake Rustington up and they were level within two minutes. Adam Bibb found Steve Kirkham, who beat his marker and coolly slotted in at the near post.

The lively Craig Cox and Kirkham both went close to giving Blues the lead before half-time.
