Work of talented equine artist goes on show

From an early age Ann Holloway of Petersfield had a passion for Morgan horses, and her underlying ambition was to eventually own one.

"As a little girl, I could think of nothing else. I eventually bought my Morgan horse, Opus, when he was two years old '“ and he is 12 now," she said.

Ann is also a talented equine artist, with a unique style of her own, using charcoal as a medium. See her work once, and you will never forget it, for it captures the spirit and soul of her equine subject.

Opus has been a great inspiration for her work, examples of which have come to Horseback Ltd, at Upper Adhurst Farm, Sheet, Petersfield, straight from a prestigious exhibition by the Society of Equine Artists at Newmarket.

Her work is bold and large and apart from originals, she has limited edition prints using a new Giclee technique which give a fine quality, smaller verion of the original.

She obtained her degree in fine art at Reading University and her work includes all kinds of animals, with horses featuring strongly amongst them because she rides.

She competes with Opus, and has shown him in breed shows '“ he is one of only 600 Morgans in the country '“ as well as taking part in dressage events with him.

"Morgans are a wonderful breed and very easy horses to look after. They have a natural affinity with people," she said.

Ann undertakes commissions from people for all kinds of animals, giving her own individual interpretation of her subjects.
