The supply has been down since around 8.30am, with power expected to be restored by 11.45am, a spokesperson for SSE has confirmed.

Anthony Cropley, from Chichester Pain Clinic in nearby Chapel Street, said he was unable to buy from Spires Bakery in Crane Street this morning as the shop cannot open.

“They can’t even put the ceiling fan on,” he said. “They’re going to lose a whole morning’s business.”
